Princes Street · public access

Princes Street

Princes Street, New Town, Edinburgh

Described in the place’s facts.

Inherited access advice: A public street, open at all hours. The trams stop along it. Reconfirm before visiting.

The opening chase was filmed on Princes Street: Renton and Spud sprint away from security, past an M&S and a John Menzies newsagent.

The M&S still stands with a new façade and logo; John Menzies closed in 1998 and became a Zara. The trams first ran in 2014.

The chase carries on along Hanover Street, in front of the Royal Scottish Academy, where the buildings are unchanged.

In T2, Renton rides an Edinburgh tram from the airport to Princes Street.
