The cable car, separate chalet interiors and exteriors, and the crew’s hotel stay behind the Alpine video.
The Last Christmas video was filmed in Saas-Fee in 1984. Local tourism records identify the Felskinn cable car and distinguish two chalet settings used for interiors and exteriors. The Walliserhof’s history adds the crew’s accommodation. These places explain the filmed holiday while the song’s own recording credits point back to London.

Saastal Tourism identifies the Felskinn cable car in the video, Chalet Tita for interior shots and Chalet Schliechte for exteriors. The two chalets are in the Wildi district. The film brings those separate settings into one apparent holiday world. Its editing gives the cable-car journey and chalet gathering a narrative connection, without establishing a literal visitor itinerary between every shot.[2]
A hotel behind the production
The Walliserhof describes George Michael and the crew arriving in autumn 1984 to film in Saas-Fee and staying at the former hotel. That is a production-support connection, distinct from the chalets that appear on screen. Accommodation helped sustain the shoot, but the hotel’s account does not turn its present rooms into the fictional chalet interiors. Its later commemorations belong to the continuing local memory of the production.[3]
The song was recorded elsewhere
Wham!’s original recording credits place Last Christmas at Advision Studios in London, with Chris Porter recording and George Michael producing and arranging. They credit Michael with synthesiser, Linn Drum and sleigh bells. The Swiss setting belongs to the video’s visual story. Keeping the London sound recording and Alpine filming distinct reveals how the finished release joined work made in different places.[1]

The cable-car association does not establish a surviving 1984 cabin or the route depicted by editing. Consult the operator for access. The chalet settings are private homes and are not pinned here. The hotel’s present rooms are not identified as the video’s chalet interiors.
