Café Nervosa · the counter

Every modifier
is a place.

The episode “Ham Radio” opens at Café Nervosa, the show’s coffee house, with Frasier ordering at the bar. The writers were developing the show just as Seattle’s coffee boom was being written about. The café was a set; the coffee was the most Seattle thing about the show. Order the way the brothers would. Each word on the cup opens somewhere you can actually go.

“Frasier” Day

Seattle’s mayor, Norm Rice, is due to proclaim “Frasier” Day in Westlake Park at noon on 11 September 1997, and plays himself in the episode.

The city calls it, unofficially, Seattle’s town square, a short walk from Pike Place Market.

Free, 6am–10pm. Buskers, table tennis and summer concerts.
