How we fund Where It Was
Affiliate disclosure
Some links on Where It Was are advertising affiliate links. If you book or buy after following one of them, Where It Was receives a commission at no extra cost to you.
We place a clear disclosure before the first monetised section on a page and mark commission-paying cards “Ad / affiliate”. Buttons use ordinary, useful language such as “Check dates” or “View physical editions”; the disclosure explains the commercial relationship rather than making every button cumbersome.
How recommendations are chosen
Hotels, experiences and products are selected for a documented connection to a World, person, place or city. A commercial relationship does not make a weak association relevant. We omit a recommendation when we cannot make a defensible connection, distinguish official programmes from marketplace searches, and do not present a hotel or tour as an actual filming location unless our editorial record supports that claim.
Partners and our own store
Current commissionable links may include Expedia, Viator, eBay and Bookshop.org UK. A merchant name does not mean that the merchant wrote or approved our editorial copy. Printed Originals and Where It Was are operated by Printed Originals Ltd.; those cards are labelled “Our poster store” rather than affiliate links.
Prices, availability and images
Prices, stock, dates, itineraries and room terms can change after publication. Confirm them with the provider before buying. Merchant images are used where a permitted catalogue or feed supplies them. When no merchant image is available, a card may use a clearly described editorial photograph from the relevant World; its alt text and source metadata identify it as context rather than a product photograph.
