The opening bank robbery was filmed at the Old Chicago Post Office, which the production used for several scenes. The robbery came first: the crew started in Chicago with the prologue several weeks before principal photography began.

Letterboxed, as most of the film is. The bank job was not.

Graham, Anderson, Probst & White designed it, and it was completed in two phases, in 1921 and 1932. It also appears in Batman Begins and Transformers: Dark of the Moon.

Bill Davies bought the run-down building in 2011 for $38 million. It was sold to 601W in 2016, renovated by Gensler, and opened to office tenants in October 2019. It now holds more than 2.5 million square feet of offices and event space, with a 3.5-acre rooftop.
