A young movie star, his half-brother and two friends from Queens move to Hollywood, and an agent rings them all day. HBO ran it for eight seasons; the film followed in 2015. The delis, hotels, red carpets and the pier are real, and nearly all of them still open their doors.

Mark Wahlberg, born in Boston, brought his childhood friends along when he started out in Hollywood, and the series drew on those years. Doug Ellin moved the boys to Queens because he knew New York better than Boston.

The Hollywood Roosevelt probably appears in Entourage more than any other hotel; the crew often goes to its Tropicana pool bar. In the season seven episode “Lose Yourself”, Vince goes from his hotel room to an Eminem party in the Roosevelt’s lobby.
