In an original University of Washington interview, Frozen 2 story director Marc Smith confirms the 2016 development research trip to Norway, Finland and Iceland. The interview describes northern forests, a black-rock beach and a glacier without naming the exact physical properties. Those visits must not be mapped automatically to popular tourist destinations or treated as live-action filming.
