A world beyond the screen
A lake, a hotel and a river crossing reveal the distance between the Driver’s stillness and the city moving around him.
The film makes Los Angeles feel both intimate and unreachable. Rooms and corridors hold conversations that traffic cannot, while the road network promises escape. Look at the buildings in daylight first; the nocturnal atmosphere belongs as much to lighting and framing as to the addresses.

Locations are sequenced as a fan journey, not a plot recap. Songs, scenes and episodes lead the route; changed, private and doubled sites are labelled rather than smoothed into fiction.

The Park Plaza, now known as the MacArthur, supplied rooms and corridors for the apartment building. Its exterior is a location photograph, not the film’s complete apartment frontage.

Standard meets his creditors beside the lake. The park gives the conversation an open setting, with little sense of privacy despite the space around it.

The original Sixth Street bridge featured in the film. It was demolished in 2016; the crossing you can visit today is a replacement, not the structure seen on screen.

What’s happening
A reason to stay longer.
Exact title and mapped-place matches come first. A clearly labelled city film or music programme may follow when it helps extend the journey.
No strong current event association is published for this World. We would rather leave this quiet than force a generic city listing.
A shared venue or neighbourhood connects a programme to the map; a city-level programme connects only to the World’s medium. Neither implies a themed event, cast appearance or artist performance. Confirm dates, location, access and tickets with the organiser.
