A world beyond the screen

A stadium parking lot, an Echo Park market and a coastal restaurant map the original film’s world.

The driving gets the attention, but the neighbourhood stops give the film its social centre. Food, routine and shared space connect the crew. Visit these places at ordinary speed and keep the distinction between a location and permission to use it: a film shoot had controls that a visitor does not.

Locations are sequenced as a fan journey, not a plot recap. Songs, scenes and episodes lead the route; changed, private and doubled sites are labelled rather than smoothed into fiction.

Dodger Stadium

The opening car test uses Dodger Stadium’s parking lot. Public access depends on stadium operations; the sequence is not an invitation to drive around the lot.

Bob’s Market

Bob’s Market stands in for the family’s market and diner. The small Echo Park shopfront brings the story back from the roads to a neighbourhood scale.

A neighbourhood shop. Respect customers and view the frontage from public space; do not obstruct the entrance.

Filming location · the coastal stop

Neptune’s Net

Brian and Dominic stop at Neptune’s Net. The restaurant’s coastal setting provides a pause between the film’s more tightly packed urban locations.

Before you go

Check opening hours and coastal road conditions. Use authorised parking; do not stop along fast-moving traffic.
