Hay Bluff and the moor road

David and Jack are dropped off on the moor road and start to walk; an “East Proctor” sign was added at a fork.

The fan location list puts the opening walk on the Black Mountains road between Capel-y-ffin and Hay-on-Wye, near the Hay Bluff car park, with the “East Proctor” road sign added at a fork.

Open hill country above Hay-on-Wye. Park at the small car park where the ridge drops into the Olchon valley and walk; the weather turns fast.

Crickadarn, the village of East Proctor

The fan location list says the pub exterior was an empty cottage dressed for the film, now restored and lived in, and that the red phone box is real. The “Angel of Death” statue was a prop.

A hamlet on minor roads. Look from the lane; the cottage that played the pub is a private home and is not named or pinned.
