Better Call Saul

Bob Odenkirk, who played Jimmy McGill, in 2018.

Jimmy McGill went by three names. Albuquerque played the places for all of them, even Omaha. Cross the names off and follow him.

Three names.
One man.

Jimmy McGill practised as Saul Goodman and hid as Gene Takavic. Each name has its own places on this pad. Cross one out and the next takes over.

The Day Spa and Nail Salon

The Day Spa and Nail Salon in north-east Albuquerque served as Jimmy McGill’s law office. In 2016 its owner, Liem Vu, said fans visited at least twice a week, and not all from Albuquerque. The show gives Jimmy’s office as 160 Juan Tabo Boulevard, which is a real nail salon.

Cottonwood Mall (Gene’s Cinnabon)

Cottonwood Mall is where Jimmy works at a Cinnabon as Gene Takavic; the original store is closed. The bakery scenes were shot in a former Cinnabon in an Albuquerque mall, closed to the public for years and restocked by the company each season so it looked open. Cinnabon’s operations team was on set every season to prepare the bakery and coach the actors.

A working mall. The Cinnabon from the show is closed, so you will not find Gene behind the counter.

North Broadway, Rochester, Minnesota

For 30 seconds of the final season’s penultimate episode, a snowy Rochester street stood in for Omaha; fans placed it on North Broadway around Northern Heights Drive. The episode is “Waterworks”: Gene drives down a street meant to be Omaha. The show’s locations manager, Christian Diaz de Bedoya, said the street may have been green-screen footage, and that fake snow was laid for scenes actually shot in summer.

An ordinary main road. Drive it in winter and it looks the part.
