The opening: Mr Singh among the pigeons.

The film’s Wikipedia article says the opening sequence featuring Amrish Puri was filmed in Trafalgar Square.

movie-locations.com says Mr Singh is first seen feeding pigeons here, a practice it notes is now discouraged.

It says the bells of St Martin-in-the-Fields, on the square’s north-east corner, bring him out of his reverie.
