A motel vent with Texas behind it.

The story runs along the Texas border. The film was made mostly in Las Vegas, New Mexico, with rooms in Santa Fe, a motel in Albuquerque, and seven or eight days on the real plain at Marfa.

Texas is behind the grille.

Moss hides the money in a motel air duct. The film hid its Texas the same way. Pick a grille, take out its four screws, and see the real place.
