Portobello Road · about a minute and a half

A year passes
in one walk.

In the film William walks the market while summer turns to spring. Walk it yourself: four presses, four real stops. Every photograph here was taken in the season it stands for.

Westbourne Park Road

The door
was his own.

Richard Curtis had lived there. The production designer, sent out to find William’s house, came back with one Polaroid of it, not knowing whose door it was.

The original door was later sold at auction, catalogued as having hung at 280 Westbourne Park Road.
