Ted Lasso

An American coach takes over a football club in Richmond. His pub, his walk to work and his front door are real, a few streets from Richmond station.

Ted’s sign over the office door is a yellow poster with blue letters, a little crooked (The Boston Globe). Yours is blank: every scene hands you a letter to tape up at a real place.

The Crown and Anchor.Ted’s local.

The pub at the end of Richmond Green is called the Crown and Anchor in the series.

Outside: the real pub. You can drink here.

It is a Grade II-listed pub. It shows live sport and serves real ale and Sunday roasts, and calls itself the home of AFC Richmond.

Be curious, not judgmental

Have you playeda lot of darts?

In series one, Ted takes on Rupert at darts: if Ted wins, Rupert stays out of the owner’s box. Ted finishes with a bullseye, and says the people who underestimated him were never curious enough to ask whether he had played a lot of darts. He had, with his dad (Ready Steady Cut). Three darts, three questions, three real grounds.

  1. Where did Richmond play Everton??
  2. And where did the cup run end??
  3. So where’s home, Ted??

Step up to the oche.
