Built in 1927, this Collegiate Gothic Revival-style building was designed by Coolidge and Hodgdon to serve as a medical school and research hospital for the University of Chicago. The building is clad in limestone with low-pitch gabled and hipped roofs, streamlined gothic motifs and detailing, two towers near the south end of the building with open belfries, multiple interior courtyards, gothic arched entrance bays, and a massing that tapers towards the ground with setbacks towards Midway Plaisance, allowing for maximum daylighting into the building. Today, the building serves as part of the University of Chicago Medical Center.. Openly licensed photograph selected near the verified coordinates.
