Bad Bunny

No me quiero ir de aquí · I don’t want to leave here

Do you live in Puerto Rico?

The residency kept its first nine shows for people who lived on the island.

In 2025 he played thirty shows on ten weekends at El Choli and would not leave. So his places come here a weekend at a time: stay for another one and another place opens.

Stay another
weekend.

By January 2025 it had 30 dates, every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 11 July to 14 September. The first nine, 11 to 27 July, were for Puerto Rico residents, who queued to buy tickets in person from 15 January.

Each weekend you stay opens one of his places, in the order of his story. No show was played at them: the dates are the residency’s, the places are where he lived, worked, marched and played.

Weekend one, 11–13 July. Stay, and another place opens. 1/10

Econo Plaza

He worked as a bagger at Econo Plaza in Vega Baja. The AP says he bagged and then worked the till, and quit in 2016, leaving a note for Delza Vélez, the head of human resources.

She remembers him singing while he gathered trolleys in the car park, where he seemed to feel free.

While he worked, he uploaded his own songs to SoundCloud.

In 2025 Heidy Crespo led hometown tours here, and a visitor from Switzerland paid $40 for one.

SoundCloud, from Arecibo

He studied audiovisual communication at the University of Puerto Rico at Arecibo. He wanted to be a radio host, and left without finishing the degree.

In 2016 DJ Luian heard Diles on SoundCloud and signed him to his label, Hear This Music.

Within a couple of months of Diles and Soy Peor he was working with Arcángel and Ozuna.

Afilando los cuchillos

On 17 July he and Residente released Afilando los cuchillos, a few hours before a march. The march set off from the Capitolio at 5 p.m., demanding the governor resign. He and Residente had both said they would be there, and Ricky Martin said he would come.

That day he posted that the march was historic, and urged people to join it.

The organiser said the 17 July march would end here rather than at La Fortaleza, because it needed a bigger space. Primera Hora described the same march as heading for La Fortaleza, the governor’s residence in Old San Juan.

The strike march

On Monday 22 July 2019 a march gathered at the Hiram Bithorn stadium, on the day of a national strike called by unions.

He marched with Ricky Martin, Residente, Olga Tañón, Kany García and Tommy Torres. More than half a million people shut down the Expreso Las Américas that day.

On 8 February 2026 he headlined the Super Bowl LX halftime show here, the first solo Latino artist to do so.

Part of the stadium became a sugarcane field, and a casita, a replica Puerto Rican home, was the second stage.

Pedro Pascal, Jessica Alba and Alix Earle were at the casita; Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin performed. A couple were legally married during the show.
