The surprise

Nothing is on the hill

Seven Days says the haunted house was a façade built for the film and destroyed soon after. All that remains is a vacant hill.

A fan location list says the hill is on the left as you drive into town, and the house was only a façade for the exterior shots.

Vermont Public calls the main house a façade taken down after production.

Nothing is left to see: only a hill. It is not pinned and may be private land.

Inside

The inside was made in California

Wikipedia says the interiors were shot at The Culver Studios in Culver City, California.

The lot is at 9336 West Washington Boulevard. Thomas H. Ince founded it in 1918 on land from Harry Culver, and Sony Pictures bought it in 1991.

Wikipedia lists Beetlejuice among the films made there. David O. Selznick leased the lot from 1935 to 1946 and made Gone with the Wind there.

Go and walk it

East Corinth is a lived-in village: look, photograph from the road and leave the buildings alone. The library is open to visit. The lodge, the bridge site and the hill are named here but not pinned, and the studio is behind gates.
